Project Tittle: Women’s Rights: Making inroads towards gender equality, participation and equal representation in Eswatini
To give support to civil society, women and media towards promoting human rights, gender equality and women empowerment in Eswatini
Women Unlimited has successfully established School-based Human Rights Learning Groups in High Schools, reaching over 400 young people with comprehensive training on Human Rights and Gender Equality. These groups, which target both girls and boys, have helped raise awareness among youth, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to advocate for gender equality and human rights within their communities-a significant step toward fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and equality among the next generation of leaders.
The initiative has contributed to a cultural shift in schools, promoting greater respect for gender equality and human rights. Students who participated in these groups have become advocates within their communities, challenging harmful norms and influencing positive behavior change. The initiative has also helped break down barriers between boys and girls, encouraging collaborative efforts to build a more inclusive and equitable society.
The project has seen tangible results, with young girls becoming vocal leaders, organizing school-wide discussions, and inspiring their peers to take action. The program’s impact extends beyond individual schools, as these young leaders continue to drive positive change within their communities, promoting gender equality and human rights for all.
